Discover the exhibition devoted to Fantin-Latour at the Musée du Luxembourg.
Above all known for his still lifes and group portraits, Henri Fantin-Latour (1836-1904) was a much more complex artist than he might have first appeared. From an early age he was committed to faithfully reproducing reality, Fantin equally explored a more poetic style with symbolist touches. The exhibition takes a fresh look at this unique artist, at the crossroads of realism, impressionism and symbolism, by showcasing some of the unknown facets of his creative process.
